Description: City Marshal Blakemore was shot as he attempted to question a suspicious individual who had just arrived in town by train. The man responded by shooting Marshal Blakemore in the neck. Marshal Blakemore died at the scene. The suspect was shot and killed by law enforcement officers several days later when he resisted arrest.
