Description: Detective Ballard was shot and killed while conducting a narcotics investigation. Detective Ballard and two officers were searching a suspect when a second suspect emerged from where he was hiding and began shooting. Detective Ballard was shot three times. The two officers were wounded. One suspect committed suicide. The second suspect attempted suicide but failed.
