Description: Officer Borgman was on traffic duty when he heard shots fired from a store across the way. Officer Borgman entered the store to find Officer Hotchkiss in a struggle with a robber. Officer Borgman joined in the shooting and was shot fatally in the chest. The other officer was wounded in the thigh and the suspect was struck five times across the chest in an almost straight line.
