Description: Constable Lansing had deputized Deputy Blake the same day of shooting to assist in capture of two suspected felons. Officers set up road block and waited for suspects to return home. When suspects arrived home officers ordered them to stop. One suspect fired at officers, which prompted a gun fight. Deputy Blake was shot in the upper thigh and died two days later from his injuries. Constable Lansing was also shot but recovered from his injuries.
