Description: Constables Chamness and Martin responded to an accident on the local highway where an intoxicated citizen had just run down a buggy that carried a woman and her two children. Constable Martin was driving and Constable Chamness was on the running board of the patrol unit. As they turned the corner they spotted the intoxicated driver. Contstable Chamness jumped off the running board in attempts to flag driver down and stop him. Suspect ran Constable Chamness down, killing him instantly.
