Description: Sheriff Catron was shot four times by a suspect who was resisting arrest. When Sheriff Catron and his men searched the suspicious automobile they discovered corn liquor and attempted to take the three suspects into custody. Two of the suspects fled on foot and the third opened fire on the officers, wounding one and killing Sheriff Catron.
