Description: Constable Crigler was shot when he and fellow officers attempted to arrest a gang who had robbed a stagecoach. Constable Crigler ordered the suspects to surrender and they responded with gunfire. Constable Crigler was shot in the chest and died at the scene. The officers returned fire and killed one suspect. The second suspect was captured, convicted of second degree murder and sentenced to 25 years in prison.
