Description: Sergeant Cantor and Detective Morris Borkin were shot by bandits who were attempting to rob a restaurant. Sergeant Cantor and Detective Morris Borkin went into the Gold Sheep restaurant for breakfast when the bandits entered with guns drawn. Detective Borkin was shot in the chest and died at the scene. Two of the bandits escaped in a stolen car. The third bandit, a 17 year old who was wounded by Detective Borkin, was captured. Sergeant Cantor died of his injuries 18 days later.
