Description: Deputy Sheriff Coates was shot and killed by the passenger of a vehicle while he conducted a traffic stop. Dispatch received a call of an officer being shot and sent backup to the scene. The occupants of the vehicle fled the scene and the suspect later committed suicide. Deputy Coates was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
