Description: Captain Carpenter was responding to a fatal hit-and-run accident scene involving a child, with his emergency lights and siren activated, when he suffered a heart attack. Captain CarpenterŸ??s patrol car crashed into an oncoming vehicle but the other driver was unharmed. Captain Carpenter was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
