Description: Deputy Commander Carothers was ambushed and shot while he and other members of the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force attempted to serve a felony warrant in Long County, Georgia. Deputy Commander Carothers was shot twice and transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The suspect was fatally shot by other members of the task force.
