Description: Police Officer Casillas was shot and killed as he attempted to arrest a man following a vehicle pursuit for reckless driving. The suspect crashed into another vehicle and fled on foot, entered his apartment and barricading himself in a bedroom. Officers attempted to make contact with the suspect and the man fired at the officers. Officer Casillas was transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Another officer was wounded in the incident. The suspect was charged with murder and several counts of attempted murder of a peace officer.
