Description: Officer Collis responded to a call to help a suspect remove his personal belongings from his current residence. The courts had ordered the suspect to do so. Officer Collis had arrested the suspect on a domestic disturbance complaint a few days earlier. The suspect had no intentions of moving. He drew his revolver and shot Officer Collis twice in the abdomen and arm. Officer Collis died the following day. The suspect was arrested but was lynched by an angry mob.
