Description: Deputy Sheriffs Curtiss and Jefferson Beard were fatally shot during a labor strike which became known as the "Everett Massacre." A group of unionized shingle weavers went on strike and efforts by law enforcement to maintain order was met with violence. Seventy-four men were arrested for the murders and one was formally charged but acquitted.
