Description: Special Agent Chitwood was shot twice as he approached a burglar in a St. Louis & San Francisco freight car in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Agent Chitwood was transported to the hospital with gunshot wounds to the chest and abdomen and died a few hours later. Although Agent Chitwood was able to give a description of his assailant, the suspect was not apprehended.
