Description: Deputy Sheriff Cobb responded to a disturbance call at the voting booth on election day when he was ambushed and shot by a known desperado. Constable Felipe Cobb, brother of Deputy Cobb, responded to the gunfire and was shot twice and died at the scene. Deputy Cobb was shot a second time by the brother of the desperado and died a few hours later. The desperado was killed by an angry mob. The second suspect escaped.
