Description: Investigator Cole succumbed to a gunshot wound that he sustained on June 18, 2007, while attempting to serve a high-risk warrant in Lawton, Oklahoma. The suspect shot through the door striking Investigator Cole. A second agent was also shot but survived. Other agents on the scene returned fire and killed the suspect. Investigator Cole suffered a spinal cord injury that rendered him a paraplegic. His health continued to deteriorate and he died on August 4, 2018 due to complications of the gunshot wound to the upper back.
