Description: Deputy Marshal Crowley was ambushed and shot as he escorted a suspect to jail. Marshal Crowley subdued an unruly crowd and arrested one man for disturbing the peace. Someone from within the crowd fired a shot and killed Marshal Crowley. Two suspects were arrested and charged with murder.
