Description: Chief of Police Curwood was shot as he attempted to disarm a suspect who had bought a revolver with the intent of shooting a relative. Chief Curwood was transported to the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds and died of his injuries six days later. The suspect was convicted of murder and was sentenced to death via the electric chair but died of tuberculosis before the sentence could be carried out.
