Description: Officer Cooper and Officer Charlie Black were on routine patrol when their cruiser was struck by another vehicle. While crossing an intersection the other vehicle ran the red light, striking the patrol cruiser at a high rate of speed. Officer Cooper was pronounced dead at the scene. Officer Black received serious injuries which required several days in the ICU.
