Description: Sergeant Curley was shot and killed while responding to a domestic disturbance call in Kaibeto, Arizona. Sergeant Curley and his partner, Officer Vernon Begay, were apprehending two suspects when a third suspect opened fire. Sergeant Curley returned fire and wounded the shooter. Sergeant Curley was transported to the hospital where he died. Officer Begay was treated at the hospital then released.
