Description: Officer Crowther reported to headquarters where he loaded his private vehicle with parolees and transported them to the city limit. Two days later, his body was found in some bushes. Patrolman Crowther had been shot in the head, robbed of his pistol, watch and vehicle. The suspects were apprehended two days later in California and confessed. Patrolman Crowther's assailant was convicted of murder and executed by firing squad. The other two suspects, one of whom was a 16 year old juvenile, served prison time and were paroled.
