Description: Trooper Chandler had arrested a suspect on contraband and drug charges. After the arrest, Trooper Chandler made a sweep of the rear seat of his cruiser, checking for any of the contraband left by the suspect. During the sweep Trooper Chandler was stuck with a needle from a hypodermic syringe. Trooper Chandler sought medical attention and the department documented the incident. Trooper Chandler's health deteriorated for eighteen years. Medical reviews concluded that Trooper Chandler contracted Hepatitis C from the contaminated needle.
