Description: Detective Cassidy, Chief Daniel Hayes, and Officer William Kohrt went to a residence to arrest a suspect for assaulting his 13 year old daughter. As Chief Hayes entered the bedroom he was fatally shot in the heart. Officers Kohrt and Detective Cassidy rushed to assist him. As Detective Cassidy reached the kitchen he was shot in the hip and back. As Detective Cassidy and Officer Kohrt ran out of the house and across the street the suspect continued to fire, killing both men. The suspect then turned the rifle on himself and committed suicide.
