Description: Deputy Sheriff Certain was fatally shot as he attempted to arrest a suspect who had shot and killed Constable Frank Ury earlier that day. The suspect then barricaded himself inside his residence and law enforcement officers deployed several rounds of tear-gas to force him out. Deputy Certain was shot in the abdomen in an exchange of gunfire when law enforcement officers stormed the residence. Deputy Certain was transported to the hospital where he died. The suspect was taken into custody.
