Description: Patrolman Cody was shot with his own gun as he attempted to arrest a suspect for causing a disturbance. The suspect resisted arrest as Patrolman Cody attempted to subdue him. The suspect gained control of Patrolman Cody's service weapon and shot him multiple times. Patrolman Cody was transported to the hospital where he died later that evening. The suspect was judged to be insane and committed to an asylum.
