Description: Correctional Officer Chapin succumbed to injuries sustained one month earlier after being attacked and beaten by an inmate in the Crawford County Correctional Facility. The suspect punched Officer Chapin in the face and slammed him to the ground headfirst. Officer Chapin never regained consciousness after the assault and died one month later in hospital.
