Description: While responding to an emergency "officer needs assistance" call, the police van in which Officer Carey was a passenger, collided with a police cruiser that had been responding to the same call. The officers were transported to a local hospital where Officer Carey was pronounced dead. The two other officers, Keith Owens and Lavonde Alston, were seriously injured. Friendly action.
