Description: Officer Canales was shot during an undercover investigation. One of the suspects produced a handgun, and the other suspects attempted to rob Officer Canales when he was shot. As the suspects attempted to flee, another undercover officer at the scene shot one suspect; the three other suspects were also apprehended a short time later. Officer Canales succumbed to his injuries shortly after arriving at the hospital.
