Description: Correction Officer Callahan suffered a heart attack when he was assaulted by an inmate at the county jail. Officers were escorting a mentally unstable prisoner to the isolation unit when the inmate began to fight. Officer Callahan physically restrained the struggling inmate who also punched him in the chest and stomach. Officer Callahan collapsed and was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
