Description: Marshal Cotner and Deputy Rodgers responded to burglary in progress at a local business. They entered the building and attempted to arrest three suspects. A gunfight erupted. Marshal Cotner was fatally wounded by shots to the abdomen. Deputy Rodgers was able to return fire, but suspects escaped. Marshal Cotner died several hours at a local hospital.
