Description: Sergeant Chapin was shot and killed while responding to a robbery in progress. As the suspect attempted to flee the scene, Sergeant Chapin confronted him. The suspect opened fire, striking Sergeant Chapin in the head and wounding a second officer. Sergeant Chapin was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect was taken into custody.
