Description: Disturbance call. While walking his beat, Patrolman Couch responded to shots fired in the vicinity. He attempted to place two feuding men under arrest. One of the men produced an automatic pistol and shot Jeff Couch twice in the heart and left arm and once each in the stomach and left thigh. He died instantly. His assailant was arrested and later lynched by a masked gang.
