Description: Town Marshal Collins and Constable Leonard Watkins were shot as they attempted to arrest a family suspected of theft and liquor violations. As Marshal Collins and Constable Watkins arrived at the train station to apprehend the suspects, they were fired upon. Marshal Collins was shot in the head and died at the scene. Constable Watkins was wounded but survived. Two suspects were arrested and two escaped.
