Description: Detective Cousin was walking about one block from his home when he was confronted by three masked gunmen in an apparent robbery attempt. A gun battle ensued with Detective Cousin managing to get off several shots with his service revolver, hitting two of his attackers before he was mortally wounded. Detective Cousin suffered at least four gunshot wounds to his chest from a .22 caliber pistol. The three males were able to flee, but were subsequently arrested along with a fourth accomplice who drove the getaway car.
