Description: Patrolman Clifford was struck by a speeding motorist when he stepped off the curb. Patrolman Clifford sustained a fractured pelvis, arm and severe head lacerations. Patrolman Clifford died two weeks later of pneumonia. The motorist pleaded guilty to a charge of aggravated assault and battery.
