Description: On April 11, 1935, Officer Carpenter sustained bite wounds to his hand and arm as he attempted to subdue a prisoner. The wounds became infected and he was hospitalized on April 16th. Thirteen days later, Officer Carpenter died of blood poisoning due to an infection in his hand.
