Description: Lieutenant Cordova-Montanez was off duty when he was shot and killed while attempting to intervene during a robbery at a local business. Lieutenant Cordova-Montanez identified himself as a law enforcement officer and attempted to stop the robbery. He was shot four times in the chest. The suspects stole his weapon and fled the scene. Lieutenant Cordova-Montanez was transported to a local hospital where he later died.
