Description: Chief Cotton and Officer Sullinger responded to a disturbance call involving a mental patient armed with a shotgun. As the officers arrived at the residence they were fired at. During the exchange of gunfire, Chief Cotton was shot in the face and killed instantly. Officer Sullinger was wounded in this incident.
