Description: Correctional Officer Cummins, assigned to the Eddyville (KY) Prison, was a passenger in a prison truck when the vehicle collided with another car that had just pulled into the road from a driveway. Officer Cummins and the inmates, who were transporting produce from the prison farm to the Eddyville facility, were thrown from the cab of the truck to the pavement. Officer Cummins was pronounced dead at the scene.
