Description: Police Officer Crain was shot and killed when he and his partner were ambushed in their patrol vehicle while stopped at a red light. The suspect drove up next to the officers' vehicle and opened fire, fatally wounding Officer Crain and seriously wounding his partner, who survived. The suspect, a former police officer, fled the scene. The suspect shot and killed University of Southern California Public Safety Officer Keith Lawrence along with his fiance and later killed San Bernardino (CA) Detective Jeremiah MacKay. The suspect committed suicide.
