Description: Undersheriff Coleman and his brother, Deputy Charles Coleman were shot and killed while looking for a pair of robbery suspects. The suspects fled. Two months later, the suspects shot and killed Sheriff John Lammy when he attempted to arrest them for murder. The suspects escaped again. But in November of that year one of the suspects was captured and lynched. The other suspect was found dead in a ravine after escaping during a prison transfer.
