Description: Deputy Sheriff Collins and his brother, Deputy Sheriff Sam Collins, were fatally shot as they attempted to serve a warrant to a witness. The family of the witness was angered that the deputies were escorting the woman from the residence and opened fire. The woman was scheduled to provide testimony against her brother who was charged with murder. Lee County Sheriff George Tucker was also wounded but survived.
