Description: Officer Cunningham was killed after falling from a 60-foot highway overpass. Officer Cunningham and his partner were investigating an accident on I-70 at the Vail Pass during icy road conditions. A tractor-trailer lost control causing both officers to run to the shoulder of the overpass for safety. Officer Cunningham was killed instantly as he fell over the rail to the ground.
