Description: On December 6, 1929, Detective Condron and his fellow officers were in pursuit of an escaped prisoner. While running after the suspect, Detective Condron struck his foot against the pavement. The pain prevented him from continuing the chase. On January 20, 1930, he was placed on sick leave due to the pain in his foot and was under the care of a physician from then on. Infection and a worsening overall condition led to his right foot being amputated on March 14, 1930. Detective Condron died of septic poisoning six days later.
