Description: Private Carey collapsed and died of a heart attack after assisting at the scene of a fiery automobile accident. Private Carey responded to the scene of an automobile crash where the occupants were attempting to get out of the burning vehicle. Private Carey and fellow officers fought the flames and pulled the passenger from the car. The driver was trapped in the vehicle and died. Private Carey complained of smoke inhalation and chest pains and went to the doctorŸ??s office a few minutes after leaving the scene of the accident. Private Carey collapsed and died before the doctor could administer treatment.
