Description: Sergeant Cantlin was shot and killed by a patrolman against whom he was going to make a complaint. Sergeant Cantlin found the patrolman in a bar instead of on his beat and told the patrolman to go back to the station to be suspended. The patrolman answered by shooting Sergeant Cantlin. The patrolman then went to the station house and talked with his fellow policemen while Sgt. Cantlin lie conscious on the ground until another patrolman found him half an hour later. Sgt. Cantlin was taken to the hospital where he died later. The patrolman who shot Sgt. Cantlin was sentenced to life in prison in Auburn State Prison.
