Description: Deputy Collins was shot by a saloon owner who had a grudge against law enforcement officers and who swore to one day kill a lawman. The saloon owner, who was also angry that ordinances were passed against gambling, argued with Deputy Collins then shot him with a Colt six-shooter. Although mortally wounded, Deputy Collins returned fire and killed his assailant.
