Description: Deputy Cole answered a call regarding a prowler at the Camelot Inn Motel. Deputy Cole discovered the suspect crouched behind a parked car. As Deputy Cole approached the suspect, he called for him to stand up and provide his identification. The suspect pulled a small .25 caliber semi-automatic pistol and fired five times at Deputy Cole. Although mortally wounded, with one round striking him in the heart, Deputy Cole was able to pull his .38 caliber revolver and fire six times, striking the suspect. Deputy Cole died at the scene. The suspect later died at a Tulsa hospital.
