Description: Special Deputy Marshal Cross was shot and killed in a case of mistaken identity between himself and officers in the Little Rock Police Department. Marshal Cross mistook Detective Cabiness and Detective Martin for railroad strikers and fired at them. Marshal Cross was fatally wounded in the incident. Sergeant Cabiness, one of the Little Rock P.D. officers, also died of his wounds.
